21 Lessons for the 21st Century

Harari is back

Author of Sapiens, the current best seller with more than ten million copies sold worldwide.

Sapiens is a journey through our past.

Homo Deus, a look into our future.

21 Lessons for the 21st Century is an exploration of our present.

How can we protect ourselves from nuclear wars, ecological cataclysms, or disruptive technologies? What can we do against the spread of post-truth or the threat of terrorism? What should we teach our children?

With the same intelligent, fresh, and provocative prose, Harari returns to bookstores with a new title, 21 Lessons for the 21st Century, in which he examines some of the most urgent issues of our present. The golden thread running through this stimulating new book is the challenge of maintaining our collective and individual focus in the face of the constant and disorienting change we are experiencing.

Are we still capable of understanding the world we have created?

Reviews:
«I was amazed by the way Yuval Noah Harari delved into the past of our species in Sapiens, just as his predictions for the future did with Homo Deus. But his captivating narrative and fascinating analyses of current events in 21 Lessons for the 21st Century are absolutely spot on.»
Sir Richard Branson

«The book's format contributes to Harari's commercial appeal, which is nothing less than the ambition and broad scope of his work, in which he brings together ideas that one does not expect but which translate into brilliant observations.»
Helen Lewis, The Guardian

«This book is a testament to his genius, with great potential to captivate curious minds.»
Moises Naim, The Washington Post

«In this work, as captivating as it is irrefutable, Harari engages in the definitive conversation on how to address the problems of the 21st century on a global scale.»
Bill Gates, The New York Times

«Harari offers a masterful combination of historical, scientific, political, and philosophical perspective, exploring the twenty-one greatest challenges that current events present, in his view. [...] he addresses a wide variety of urgent issues, including liberal democracy, nationalism, immigration, and religion. 21 Lessons for the 21st Century is a thorough and rigorously documented work, written to be enjoyed and discussed for a long time.»
Publishers Weekly

«A truly insightful exploration of the great themes of our present, as well as the immediate future of society. [...] Throughout twenty-one spot-on essays, the author offers his opinion on where our world is evolving in the midst of the post-truth era. [...] Most readers will find a delicious sensibility in his narrative [...]. Another masterpiece by Harari.»
Kirkus Reviews

«Yuval Noah Harari also marks the start of the season with his 21 Lessons for the 21st Century (Debate), where he examines some of the most urgent issues of the present such as work, nationalism, immigration, terrorism, post-truth, and war.»
Jacinto Antón, El País, Babelia

«Harari goes further than Spinoza himself. His passionate universalism requires that no one occupy the center of the world, not even the chosen people par excellence.»
Teresa Giménez, El Cultural
