Up there
It's always above us, and so it seems like we know everything about it, but the sky holds a hidden treasure: the secret of time and the beginning of everything. Looking up for stars and planets thus becomes an incredible journey in search of the limits of the Universe all the way to the Big Bang, the explosion that gave rise to everything. Its flash of light has reached us as a voice from the past. By listening to it, we will discover that we are made of the same material that stars are made of, which are born, shine, and die, just like us. On this incredible journey, we will be amazed by explosions of colors, we will witness galactic embraces and the birth of new celestial bodies, and we will explore up close the mysteries of black holes, which devour everything around them: light, time, and matter. Illuminated by Alice Beniero's illustrations and Silvia Vecchini's poems, the texts are provided by six passionate astrophysicists who will accompany us in the discovery of the universe, clarifying the most complex concepts in an entertaining way. Venturing into space with them is an invitation to open our eyes to the sky and let ourselves be captivated by the wonders hidden up there. |
