Mrs. Rothschild's love

The great love story that forged one of the most emblematic families in the history of Judaism and the construction of their fortune, praised by critics, by Amos Oz and Abraham B. Yehoshúa, and on Israel's bestseller list.

1770. From her window in the walled ghetto of Frankfurt, young Gutale records in her diary the daily life of the Judengasse, the Jewish street, as well as the outburst of her first love for young Meir Amschel Rothschild. Meir is clear

that he has found the ideal woman, but before winning her hand he must face his father's fierce opposition, use his business intuition and take advantage of the European nobility's passion for the trade of ancient coins to lay the foundations of the financial empire that will bear his name.

In this novel we witness not only the origin of a decisive family in the history of Europe and the details of the construction of their fortune, but also the intimacy of an extraordinary woman who, without leaving her home in the Judengasse, was always aware of the most relevant events of her time: the outbreak of the French Revolution, the Napoleonic wars, or the alliances and conflicts between the reigning houses of the continent.

Critics have said...
«Sara Aharoni has mixed various ingredients of historical, romantic and biographical novels to bring to literary life the couple who founded the most powerful financial saga in the world.»
Ramón Villa, El Correo

«An impressive story conceived by an indisputable literary talent. The Rothschilds are a myth in European culture, and this unforgettable story transforms that myth into something full of life and with a very human meaning.»
Abraham B. Yehoshúa

«An excellent historical novel about the Rothschild dynasty. An unforgettable love story.»
Carmit Bar-gil, Saloona

«Like so many in Israel, many readers of other languages will enjoy this new novel by Sara Aharon.»
Amos Oz

«With research that deserves all praise, this book has exploded the bestseller lists. What is its secret? First, the subject. The choice of a family with a surname synonymous with legendary wealth was an extraordinary decision.»
Alit Karp, Haaretz

«A fascinating work, written with great skill by someone who deeply knows that historical period.»
Kobi Finkler, Arutz Sheva 7

«A passionate book that you won't be able to forget.»
Nissim Katz, Yekum Tarbut

«A book as endearing as the love story it tells and the power that love generates. The heroine is a formidable character.»
Shelly Lanzman, Globes
