Sleeping Beauties

In this spectacular collaboration between father and son, Stephen King and Owen King offer us their most daring story yet: what would happen if women abandoned this world?

In a future so real and close that it could be today, when women fall asleep, a cocoon sprouts from their bodies, isolating them from the outside. If they are woken, disturbed, or if the cocoon surrounding them is touched, they react with extreme violence. And during sleep, they escape to another world. Men, meanwhile, are left to their primal instincts.

The mysterious Evie, however, is immune to this blessing or curse of the sleep disorder. Is she a medical anomaly that needs to be studied? Or is she a demon that needs to be liquidated?

A 21st-century fable about the possibility of an exclusively female world that is more peaceful and just, especially relevant today.

Review:
«The novel leads us into an epic battle (...) with brilliant incursions into territories that the father of the Kings can justly claim as his own: insomnia, the tension with which an isolated society responds to violence, the very idea of the spread of a pandemic... (...): pure King in its best passages.»
Enrique de Hériz, El Periódico de Cataluña

On the blogs...
«What stands out in this particular version is its brilliance. In a future so real and close that it could be today, and with a spectacular fantasy, which at all times is supported by logic and reflection, the authors turn the idea of women leaving the world to create another into a moving story, into an exciting adventure sometimes violent and sometimes tender.»
Blog Todo literatura

«The story is ultimately a parable about the possibility of an exclusively female world, more peaceful and fairer.»

Blog Las lecturas de Guillermo

«A story full of terror that makes us think and consider many things, especially, if you are a woman, what would you have done if you were in the protagonists' place, and if you are a man, what would have been your way of trying to solve the tragedy.»
Blog El mundo de Naya

«The authors' writing is exquisite, this pair has managed to blend their narrative masterfully.»
Blog Atrapada en unas hojas de papel

«The novel is a brutal satire about men, but also about cuts in social services or the role of the media.»
