Critique of Pure Reason
Can metaphysics be considered a science? Critique of Pure Reason, the fundamental work by German philosopher Immanuel Kant. The main work of the German philosopher Immanuel Kant. If there is one philosopher who represents what the Enlightenment was, it is undoubtedly Kant and, specifically, his most universal work, Critique of Pure Reason. With this book, he undertakes a critique that is as systematic as it is devastating to metaphysics or, more precisely, to the arguments that sustain traditional metaphysics. In reality, the Critique of Pure Reason is presented as preparation for a rigorous philosophical system that Kant never fully developed. But the critical exercise contained in this book is a pinnacle of intellectual effort for rigor, an exercise in which the demolitions he carries out are as impressive as the paths he opens for philosophical reflection. Hence, it remains a permanent and indispensable source of ideas to explore and debate. In this carefully revised edition, notable modifications have been introduced compared to previous ones, seeking greater precision in vocabulary, expanding the analytical index, and including new introduction, chronology, and bibliography. As in previous editions, the text of the second original German edition has been used as the basis, with significant modifications compared to the first. In the margins of the text, the corresponding references to the pagination of the two German editions are included. |
