Once upon a time there were two girls, Elena and Lila, who were born in 1944 in a poor neighborhood in the city of Naples, and since then their story has been the common thread of this splendid Neapolitan saga that now reaches its third installment. Lila married very young to the wealthiest man in the neighborhood and soon after left him. Now she lives in a miserable place, but her ingenuity has not diminished; it has only transformed into rage. It is perhaps this hatred that will lead her to lead the factory revolts and to refuse a peaceful and modest coexistence with her new partner. Elena, on the other hand, has continued her studies and has even written a novel. Now she lives between Naples and Pisa, and has married a professor at the University of Florence.
