Considered one of Fernando Alonso's sources of inspiration, the driver frequently cites it in his public appearances and social media. "When things are done slowly, Hagakure means "in the shadow of the leaves" and is a Japanese literary work written by Yamamoto Tsunetomo in the 18th century. Its intention was to transmit to future generations the rules of bushido, that is, the warrior code of the samurai. It is a breviary, a compendium of anecdotes and reflections on various topics and without a pre-established order, made with the intention of transmitting introspection and philosophical knowledge while promoting the spirit of bushido. The text was only intended for warriors and remained secret for many years. It later became a classic of Japanese culture.
