Five Feet Apart

We need to be close to the people we love almost as much as we need the air we breathe.
Stella and Will have the same lung disease, in the same hospital. When they fall in love, they rediscover the joy of living, but there's a problem: due to the risk of contagion, they can't get closer than six feet without risking their lives.

Can you love someone you can't touch?

Stella Grant likes to be in control, even though she can't control her own lungs, which have kept her in the hospital for most of her life. Above all, Stella needs to control her space to stay away from anyone or anything that could give her an infection and jeopardize her lung transplant. Six feet apart. No exceptions.

The only thing Will Newman wants to control is how to get out of this hospital. He doesn't care about his treatments, or if there's a new medication in clinical trials. He'll soon turn eighteen and be able to unplug all these machines. He wants to go see the world, not just its hospitals.

Will and Stella can't get close. Just by breathing near her, Will could cause Stella to lose her spot on the transplant list. The only way to stay alive is to stay apart.
