The planet Kalgash is on the brink of chaos, but only a few people have noticed. Kalgash knows only perpetual daylight, as for more than two millennia the combination of its six suns has illuminated the sky. However, darkness is now beginning to reign. Soon all the suns will set, and the terrible splendor of dusk will unleash a madness that will mark the end of civilization. Nightfall, a novel based on a story written by Asimov in 1941, allows the reader to experience the cataclysm that will befall Kalgash through the eyes of a journalist, an astronomer, an archaeologist, a psychologist, and a religious fanatic.
