Camille (Una investigación del comisario Camille Verhoeven 4)

The final installment of the tetralogy starring Commander Camille Verhoeven, the most captivating series of recent years, winner of the prestigious Dagger Award for crime fiction.

«An event is considered decisive when it completely disrupts our lives. For example, three shots from a repeating shotgun at the woman one loves

Anne Forestier finds herself caught in the middle of a jewelry store robbery on the Champs-Élysées. After being severely beaten and left on the brink of death, she is lucky enough to survive... and condemned to have seen the assailant's face. Her life is in grave danger, but Anne has the help of the man she loves: Commander Camille Verhoeven. He will be willing to act outside the law to protect her. But who is this enemy, and why such a fierce determination to end Anne's life?

The chilling atmosphere and writing in this final installment of the tetralogy once again confirm Pierre Lemaitre's incredible talent.

Reviews:
«One of those novels that are simply brutal.»
Elle

«The reader loses their breath following this man whose short stature is in indirect proportion to his astonishing intelligence... What makes Lemaitre-Verhoeven great, that is, different, is his blend of intelligence and tenderness, of irony and nostalgia, someone to whom nothing human can be alien.»
Sagrario Fernández-Prieto, La Razón

«A plot that once again showcases the best of Lemaitre: literary quality, rhythm, narrative control, and a distinctive character, sometimes strident and always endearing. If you've already read the previous ones, you can't miss this one.»
Juan Carlos Galindo, blog Elemental de El País

«Lemaitre is an essential author in the current literary landscape, crime fiction or not. [...] Camille is an action novel, vibrant, visually perfect.»
Ramón Ventura, El Periódico de Catalunya

«Camille is the crowning glory of a tetralogy. The quality of the novel is equal to or superior to what Lemaitre has accustomed us to. The rhythm continues to pound our temples as we advance in the reading. The twists in the narrative are those that leave you breathless, those you don't expect, those that surprise but above all those that reinforce the idea that only you have lost control because the author knows perfectly how to play with you.»
Raquel Espejo, La Opinión de Málaga

«Lemaitre knows how to reinvent himself, how to surprise with each new novel, and once again he has succeeded with Camille, thanks to a perfect mechanism and unpredictable twists. Another work of authentic writing. Oppressive, absorbing, Camille never cheats.»
Roger Martin, L'Humanité

«Camille Verhoeven, the dwarf, choleric, brutally human policeman..., a character I fell in love with from the very first moment, who breathes truth and pain, to whom I return again and again.»
Juan Carlos Galindo, blog Elemental de El País

«With Camille Pierre Lemaitre definitively establishes himself as the king of French crime fiction... In it, everything works perfectly!»
Jacques Teissier, Un Polar Collectif

«Brilliant... With a great sense of suspense and an incredible handling of emotion.»
Yann Plougastel, Le Monde
