“There are some things I can't tell anyone, except to people who are no longer here.” It all starts with a Literature class assignment: writing a letter to a dead person. Laurel decides to write to Kurt Cobain, who died young just like May, her sister. After the first letter, she can't stop and will write others to different famous people. But she won't turn any of them in to her teacher. The letters will become a catharsis for her to make sense of her sister's death and everything that has happened in her life since then. Maybe that way, Laurel will find a way to move on.
