circo máximo - chico

The highly anticipated second part of the Trajan trilogy. "Santiago Posteguillo turns the life of the Hispanic emperor into a spectacle." La Vanguardia "The novel is a true spectacle, with no respite for the reader, shaken by an adrenaline-fueled action." La Vanguardia
Circo Máximo is the story of Trajan and his government, wars and betrayals, unwavering loyalties and impossible love stories. There is a vestal, a trial, innocent accused, a brilliant lawyer, encrypted messages, impregnable fortresses, two rival charioteers, gladiators and three chariot races. There is a special horse, different from all others, forgotten ancient laws, human sacrifices, bitterness and terror, but also flashes of nobility and hope, like the flame of the Temple of Vesta, which, while burning, preserves Rome. Only some nights the flame trembles. The wheel of Fortune then begins to turn. At such times, anything is possible and even Trajan's life may be in danger. And, this is the best part, it happened: there was a plot to assassinate Marcus Ulpius Trajan.
