At the age of fifteen, she launched the blog Relocos y Recuerdos, and has been writing non-stop ever since, sharing her verses through social media. She has published the poetry collections Cuarenta y tres maneras de soltarse el pelo (2013), Baluarte (2014), Ya nadie baila (2015) and La soledad de un cuerpo acostumbrado a la herida (2016). Elvira collaborates with musicians, singer-songwriters and other poets, and has published two books that combine illustration and poetry: Tú la Acuarela/Yo la Lírica (2013), a collaboration with illustrator Adriana Moragues, and Aquella orilla nuestra (2018), illustrated by Emiliano Batista (EMBA). Elvira Sastre combines her poetic career with writing and translation. She has translated poets such as Rupi Kaur and Gordon E. McNeer, and novelists such as E. Lockhart and John Corey Whaley. Recently, her work and her efforts in favor of artistic creation have been recognized with the La Sombra del Ciprés Award, granted by the Cultural Association of Novelists from Ávila. Currently, the writer fills theaters and concert halls with her poetry recitals and shares her poetry, experiences, and personal world with readers through social media. |
