DETALLES

curso de sociología general 1 conceptos fundamentales

This book comprises the first part of the general sociology course that Pierre Bourdieu taught at the Collège de France: a series of lectures in which he explains what sociology is for him, what its object is, and what it means to be a sociologist. We must return, says Bourdieu, to fundamental concepts, not merely to popularize them, but to convey what the researcher's work consists of and to what extent it becomes impoverished or automated if taken for granted. To do this, we must challenge the common sense that tells us that the sociologist studies structures and processes susceptible to statistical analysis independent of individuals, or that they only deal with concrete subjects and observable interactions between them.
