De La Tierra A La Luna
"From the Earth to the Moon" is the fourth novel by French writer Jules Verne (1828-1905) and tells the adventures of the Baltimore Gun Club, a group of weapons enthusiasts, in their attempts to reach the Moon with a projectile fired from an enormous cannon. This work continued Verne's dominance in the realm of adventure novels, also establishing his first and decidedly successful attempt in the almost nonexistent genre of science fiction. Although his previous works had already flirted with ideas that today would fit more comfortably there, it is not until "From the Earth to the Moon" that the author would begin to produce more risky and futuristic material, paving the way for the prolific career that we admire today.
