The Eight-Gates Ghetto

This is not just the story of a Warsaw Ghetto survivor. It is a testament to what Man can do to survive his time. The story of this heroine may seem unbelievable at times, her courage and cunning too astounding to be real.
Mira Ostromoglinska was born into a Polish Jewish family in 1922. Due to a pact of silence, she kept her story secret for over fifty years. Until one day she finally decided to tell, for the first time, and with unsettling lucidity, how they escaped the horror of the ghetto through the sewers and how they organized themselves not to surrender to the Nazi extermination.
Alejandro Parisi interviewed her over the course of a year. The Ghetto of the Eight Gates is the result of that wonderful work. The author skillfully captured the voice of his protagonist, narrates with a precise and subtle tone, and masterfully portrays those years in Europe.
The Ghetto of the Eight Gates is both a novel and the account of an overflowing life, of a moving experience.
