DETALLES

ikigai (méx)

According to the Japanese, everyone has an ikigai, a reason for being. Some have found it and are aware of their ikigai; others carry it within but are still searching for it. This is one of the secrets to a long, youthful, and happy life, like the one led by the inhabitants of Okinawa, the world's longest-lived island. The idea for this book arose from combining Héctor García's (author of "A Geek in Japan") experience in Japanese culture, having lived in Japan for twelve years, with Francesc Miralles's (author of dozens of books and novels and a psychology specialist) writing artistry. To write the work, the two authors were received by the mayor of Ogimi (Okinawa), a town in northern Japan with the highest longevity rate in the world, and had access to interview over a hundred of its inhabitants. In this new edition of this already classic personal growth book, the authors present a prologue in which they reflect on all the experiences they have lived since the publication of the first edition of "Ikigai" in 2016. Having a clear and defined ikigai, a great passion, is something that brings satisfaction, happiness, and meaning to life. The mission of this book is to help you find it, in addition to discovering many keys of Japanese philosophy for a long and healthy body, mind, and spirit.
