Laura Loire is an antiquarian bookseller about to close the sale of a manuscript of Dante's Inferno, with which she hopes to save her business. At the moment of the operation, she discovers that the valuable book has been stolen and a crude copy is in its place. She is convinced that Pol, her ex-boyfriend, a gentleman thief, is involved. However, shortly after, she discovers that he is on the passenger list of a plane that crashed in Barajas.
