César Vidal has revised his biography of Lincoln in light of Spain's recent history. Without detracting from what is undoubtedly the best biography of Lincoln written by a Spanish author, Vidal has used the reflections of the legendary American president to also reflect on the problems of our democracy, on our own disputes about the right to self-determination and on our attitude towards minorities and immigrants.
