Historia
Every seven years, the Agon begins. As a punishment for a past rebellion, nine Greek gods are forced to walk the Earth as mortals, hunted by descendants of ancient bloodlines, all eager to kill a god and seize their divine power and immortality. Long ago, Lore Perseus fled that brutal competition in the wake of the sadistic murder of her family by a rival bloodline, leaving behind promises of eternal glory from the hunt. For years, she has tried to evade any thought of vengeance towards the man—now a god—responsible for her family's death. However, during the last Agon in New York, two participants ask for her help: Castor, her childhood friend, whom she thought dead, and Athena, one of the last original goddesses, gravely wounded. The goddess offers her an alliance against their common enemy and, moreover, a way for Lore to leave the Agon in the past forever. But Lore's decision to tie her destiny to Athena's and rejoining the hunt will come at a deadly cost, and it may not be enough to stop the emergence of a new god with the power to bring humanity to its knees. |
