Alex is in love with the cosmos and spaceships. At only eleven years old, his dream is to emulate Carl Sagan and send his iPod into space, just as his hero sent the golden records Sounds of Earth aboard the Voyager spacecraft in 1977. From Colorado to New Mexico and from Las Vegas to L.A., Alex will make recordings of Earth, his home. On his aimless journey, he will encounter lost, funny and exceptional people who will somehow prepare him to face the truth about his father's death. Alex will learn that, despite having a troubled mother and an almost always absent brother, his family is there for him, more than he thought. Alex's goal was to reach the cosmos, but his final destination will be himself.
