On The Path Of Gandhi
Gandhi gave advice for better human coexistence and deep personal knowledge, at all stages of life, with the hope of being better. Learn about his history and ideas with this book. Mohandas Karamchad Gandhi (1869-1948) was given the nickname Mahatma (Great Soul), defining in a single word his greatness of spirit and immortalizing this quality alongside his name. He offered his life in 1948 with the practice of non-violence for an ideal: the independence of India. In this biography, we aim to follow in his footsteps so that they may serve as an example to us. Non-violence, according to Gandhi, is a law of humanity, just as gravity is a cosmological law. Gandhi, with his theories and practices of non-violence (his protest fasts were famous) elevated us all above our passivity and indolence. But there's more, Gandhi gave guidelines and advice for better human coexistence and, following the Socratic maxim, a deeper knowledge of oneself, at all stages of life, with the hope of being better. If he lived among us, Plutarch would have included Gandhi in his famous work Parallel Lives, as a model worthy of being studied and imitated throughout history.
