DETALLES

for a left-wing populism

The neoliberal hegemony that prevailed until the 2008 financial crisis is much more than austerity policies, financialization of the economy at the expense of the productive economy, rule by experts, and an ever-widening gap between privileged elites making decisions and a society that only awakens when its consumption capacity is affected. This hegemony brought with it post-democracy, political indifference, the suspicion that there are no possible alternatives to the dictates of the establishment. Or that any anti-status quo alternative is branded with the stigma of extremism or populism.
