The cyber novel that inspired the great Warner Bros. production, halfway between Avatar and The Matrix.

The year is 2044 and, like the rest of humanity, Wade Watts prefers the OASIS video game a thousand times over to the increasingly bleak real world.

It is said to hide the diabolical pieces of a puzzle whose solution leads to an incalculable fortune. The keys to the enigma are based on late 20th-century culture, and for years, millions of humans have tried to find them, without success.

Suddenly, Wade manages to solve the first puzzle of the prize, and from that moment on, he must compete against thousands of players to win the trophy.

The only way to survive is to win; but to do so, he will have to abandon his virtual existence and confront life and love in the real world, from which he has always tried to escape.
