Estoy asustada, torero

Tengo miedo Torero is a verse from an old Spanish song. Its words suggest, beyond "its dense theatricality" and its melancholic echoes, the recondite interiority of a country that, as Lemebel defines it, "dreams very little, dreams on credit, does not dream the impossible"
Pedro Lemebel defies all attempts at categorization. "Ironic, sarcastic, savagely parodic, kitschy, affected, twisted and, in addition, tender, funny and always intense, overwhelmingly lyrical," this writer directs his gaze to a universe little explored among us: "homosexual identity, the transvestite alternative and its complexities."
A love story in Santiago in '86, the year of the attempt on Pinochet's life. A young man from the Manuel Rodríguez Patriotic Front, who is going to participate in the action, lives a sentimental relationship with a homosexual, who supports him, unknowingly-knowingly, in his political plans. These fail and the bond is frustrated.
