Triple Focus. A New Approach to Education
Daniel Goleman and Peter M. Senge offer education professionals, parents with school-aged children, and anyone involved in pedagogy the incorporation of three sets of basic comprehension skills: the triple focus. This new book follows in the wake of Emotional Intelligence, Leadership, and Primal Leadership, with Daniel Goleman and Peter M. discussing the triple focus. Likewise, the authors justify these competencies by the urgent need to help students navigate a fast-paced world where increased distraction and growing interconnectedness are the main problems causing dispersion of goals and methods. The main points of this method, the three competencies to work on, are: "self-awareness" or focusing on oneself, "empathy" or understanding other people, and "systems thinking" or understanding the world around us. The ultimate intention of Triple Focus is that, by assimilating these concepts as drivers of the study system, today's children will become happier, calmer, and more mature students, with the purpose of achieving success in their lives and contributing to the vital social changes necessary to face the immediate future. |
