DETALLES

a place in the world

September 2015. After crossing the Aegean Sea, fleeing a life of suffering in Syria and losing his father, Ahmed, a 14-year-old Syrian boy without a passport, decides to escape from the refugee camp in Brussels for fear of being deported. With nowhere to go, no food, no clothes, and no acquaintances, he decides to hide in the basement of a large house. What he doesn't know is that Max, a 13-year-old American boy who has moved to Brussels with his family, lives there. When Max discovers Ahmed, he decides to keep it a secret, and little by little, they find themselves embroiled in an epic story where they must make moral decisions and take personal risks, all within the context of a Europe marked by jihadist attacks, the refugee crisis, and the fear of the other, especially Muslims.
