Is it possible for a guy and a girl to be just friends? Or are they always one fight away from never speaking again and one kiss away from true love? Macallan and Levi became friends the moment they met. Everyone says that men and women can't be just friends, but these two are. They hang out after school, share a lot of inside jokes, their families are very close, and Levi even dates one of Macallan's friends. Their relationship is platonic and happy that way.
Over time, they both realize that it wouldn't be bad at all to be best friends if they didn't get in each other's way. It turns out that guys don't ask Macallan out because they think she's with Levi, while he spends too much time joking with her, and perhaps not enough with his girlfriend. So others can't help but wonder if they are more than friends or if they are just better off that way, without complicating things even further.
In this fun two-voice book, friendship, empathy, and true love are questioned, going beyond social conventions or what others think.
