Brighton, 1950. From the first time she saw him, Marion has been in love with Tom, her best friend's brother. He will teach her to swim, in the mornings at the beach, and Marion, completely captivated, will convince herself that the love she feels is enough for both of them. A few years later, at the Brighton Art Museum, Patrick meets Tom, a handsome local policeman, and introduces him to the glamorous and sophisticated world of art and culture. Patrick and Marion, consumed by their love, will be forced to share Tom until, unable to continue like this, one of them causes the lives of all three to explode.
