The Gunslinger is the first book in the magnificent "Dark Tower" series. Here we meet the hero Roland of Gilead and his long journey to the enigmatic tower begins.

These words were written by Stephen King in 1970, five years before the publication of his first novel, and with them he opened the door to a new world that many readers still do not know well. This is how an epic fantasy in seven volumes, "The Dark Tower," began, which ended up becoming a classic of the genre.

Stephen King took thirty-three years to complete the cycle. This is a revised version of the first volume, enriched with illustrations by Michael Whelan for a limited edition published by Donald M. Grant in 1982, along with a new introduction and a foreword by the author.
