La Ramera de Babilonia
A fierce diatribe against the Catholic Church, by Fernando Vallejo. During the twenty-six years of the pontificate of the Pole Karol Wojtyla (better known as John Paul II), the world population increased by two billion. Our species had reached such a figure in 1930, after millions of years of existence on Earth. No one was more responsible for this excessive increase than him, who traveled through one hundred and thirty countries on five continents preaching against birth control, calling himself a defender of life because he defended an egg fertilized by a sperm, the zygote, which is the size of an amoeba. Today we are seven billion and the damage done is irreparable. This is the last of the greatest infamies of the Church. The eight crusades that devastated the so-called Holy Land, the extermination of the indigenous civilizations of America, the opposition to freedom of conscience and speech and to all scientific progress, the condoning of slavery, the degradation of women, the Inquisition, these are others, to which must be added its indifference to the unfortunate fate of animals. The Albigensians, whom Pope Innocent III, the most powerful man of his time, exterminated because they reproached him for his riches, called the Church of Rome "the whore of Babylon," taking the expression from the Apocalypse. For two millennia it has been committing crimes, with impunity, abusing the credibility of the flock and enjoying its shameless wealth. The Whore of Babylon, for now, raises the summary of its greatest crimes, incidentally questioning the existence of a Supreme Being who, if He exists, has allowed them, without the sacrifice of His only Son having served in the slightest until now. |
