El redentor (Harry Hole 6)

"THE UNDISPUTED KING OF CRIME NOVELS" (El Mundo),

WITH 50 MILLION READERS IN 50 LANGUAGES,

PRESENTS DETECTIVE HARRY HOLE IN HIS SIXTH CASE.

It's a freezing December night and the city is bustling with pedestrians, laden with Christmas shopping. The carols of the Salvation Army play in the background. Suddenly, a shot rings out and one of the performers falls dead.

Harry Hole and his team take charge of the investigation, but there's very little to go on: no suspect, no weapon, no motive for the crime. But when the killer thinks he has killed the wrong person and makes another move, the clues will follow one after another, leading Harry through the worst corners of society.

The Redeemer explores themes such as urban poverty and recent European history. In his pursuit of an enigmatic hitman from former Yugoslavia, Hole must also navigate the spiritual woes of the most disadvantaged, who perhaps await with too much fervor that something or someone... will redeem them from their suffering.

The Redeemer is the sixth installment in the Harry Hole series, the quintessential Norwegian crime novel saga: in it, Jo Nesbø describes his protagonist's descent into the hells of revenge, religion, and war.

Reviews:
"The author showcases virtues and abilities here; the prose captivates as much as the plot, the different narrative threads develop, intertwine, and entangle, leading to a powerful and magnificent narrative climax."
El Periódico

"The Redeemer is excellent. Jo Nesbø is my new favorite thriller writer, and Harry Hole my new hero. This book kept my tension dangerously high from start to finish."
Michael Connelly

"With The Redeemer, we could say that Jo Nesbø gives the series a new twist [...] Hole has closed a tough chapter of his life, he has healed some wounds, but he remains a tormented soul, confronting his ghosts, plunged into an eternal inner struggle and in constant battle with alcohol."
Miguel Ángel, Me gustan los Libros

"The new Raymond Chandler."
Metro

"A breathless crime novel. Fast-paced, full of events and surprising details, unexpected twists, and clear, icy views of the city of Oslo in winter."
The Wall Street Journal
