A thriller where Detective Mercedes Barren and psychiatrist Martin Jeffers find themselves embroiled in a terrifying affair while pursuing an unknown psychopath.

It's not a normal road trip, as he dedicates himself to kidnapping, killing, and then photographing his victims; she, to writing about what happened and making sure she has accurately captured the story, because she knows her captor will review everything later.

Detective Mercedes Barren, of the Miami police, has more than enough reasons to pursue this unknown psychopath: her niece is one of his presumed victims. Psychiatrist Martin Jeffers, a specialist in sexual offenses, is also interested in the case.

The first suspect they find is an Islamic fundamentalist, but they soon discover that the matter is more complicated than they thought, and that this Islamist has nothing to do with the young woman's kidnapping.
