RETURNS «THE UNDISPUTED KING OF CRIME FICTION» (El Mundo), WITH 50 MILLION READERS IN 50 LANGUAGES, WITH AN UNEXPECTED ANTIHERO: A HITMAN WHO PHILOSOPHIZES ABOUT DEATH AND LOVE. Contract killing, that is Olav's trade. And he does it well, earning his living working for one of Oslo's biggest drug lords, Daniel Hoffmann. However, the life of a hitman has its drawbacks: nobody wants you around. Fond of philosophizing about death and love, Olav has resigned himself to a life without passion when he suddenly meets the woman of his dreams. But there are two problems. The first is that she is Corina Hoffmann, his boss's wife. The second is that Olav's new mission is to kill her. Blood on the Snow is a very different novel from what we have read from Jo Nesbø to date. Nevertheless, this exploration of the desire for redemption is probably one of his most mature and personal books, in which he masterfully applies the lessons learned from Jim Thompson and Knut Hamsun. Critics have said... «A jubilant work for its ability to immerse us in the thrilling avatar of a hitman: [...] good and evil intermingle and confuse. [...] The reader will undoubtedly enjoy it from the very first pages.» «Wild nature, escape, violence, and also tenderness. A thriller written without any artifice that leaves you breathless.» «This novel thrills and stirs the nervous system. [...] A writer of perennial literature.» «An incendiary bomb crafted with crime, revenge and a thug with too many problems.» «A sweeping novel with touches of spaghetti western. It will trap you.» «Nesbø's multiple talents shine here from the first page.» «A classic novel, with nods to pulp, but with surprisingly modern touches.» «Let's celebrate: Jo Nesbø's torrential narrative enthusiasm has found a new channel to flow through.» «Blood on the Snow is pure craftsmanship, it's the work of a master.» «A true gem.» |
