The Seer is the third installment in the celebrated crime novel series starring Detective Joona Linna.

Flora Hansen considers herself a medium capable of communicating with the dead. After the terrible murder committed in a home for troubled girls, she begins to have visions that are too real. Frightened, she calls the police, claiming to have seen a ghost. Only one detective will set aside his skepticism to listen to what Hansen has to say: Joona Linna.

The explanation for the homicide seems obvious: one of the girls escaped in the middle of the night, leaving behind a bloody bed and an axe under her pillow. But then, why does Hansen insist that the murder weapon was a stone and not the axe? And how can the presence of a red and dark grain of sand, almost like a ruby splinter, in the victim's fingernail be explained? Linna's investigation, whose instinct tells him not to accept easy answers, will lead him to a fatal encounter with a figure from his past.
